Performance / Production Record and Other
Information
PC Mr Sun Peppy, Sunny was added to our program in 1997. We were looking for a stallion that could add some speed while still keeping the cow horse in mind. Sunny’s pedigree is filled with proven horses, both top and bottom, who fit that bill.
In 2001 we put Sunny in barrel training with Lisa Scheffer of Hamilton, MT. She told us that he has speed to burn, but that it’s his great athletic ability and trainable mind that are most impressive. She pushed Sunny hard to have him ready for the 2001 Spring Futurities and he was always willing to do what was asked.

As for his performance as a sire, Sunny puts tremendous muscle and a never-ending hip on all of his colts - along with that ready to please attitude. We feel that with offspring like this, PC Mr Sun Peppy colts will go on to make their mark around the country. We also believe that Sunny will produce some very powerful broodmares to put back into our breeding program.
Treasure State Quarter Horses is a traditional outfit with modern day breeding. We ride our bloodlines, break our own colts, and do all aspects of our ranch work on horseback. The mares foal out in the hills and the colts learn to cover the country just as soon as they can stand.
We have horses for sale at the ranch year around, and offer foals for sale each September as a guest consignor to the Weaver Ranch Quarter Horse Production Sale in Great Falls, Montana. The next auction will be Saturday, Sept 20, 2008, at the Expo Park Fairgrounds in Great Falls.

Treasure State Quarter Horses is located 30 miles south of Chinook, Montana in the Bear Paw Mountains. The terrain is very rugged and steep with the highest point at nearly 6000 feet above sea level. We are currently into the fifth generation living and working on this ranch. Our colts are the product of a breeding program we began developing in the early 1990’s which emphasizes versatility and disposition.
